EZ Freeze brand LP propane refrigerators are made in the U.S.A. by a small Amish company committed to the highest performance and highest quality possible in the industry. EZ Freeze offers 5 sizes and 13 models of high quality refrigerators. All units feature a removable cooling unit, gas orifice, stainless steel burner, filtered orifice, EZ-Defrost System, and a secondary regulator.

The quality of EZ Freeze products is unsurpassed in the industry. Our sales records show that EZ Freeze has the lowest percentage of warranty issues than any other brand of propane fridge. We have sold all brands over the years, and our experience in service and repairs gives us the confidence to label the EZ Freeze brand as the best in quality, performance, craftsmanship, and durability. Every unit is tested at the factory in a controlled environment, “Hot Room,” with temperatures reaching at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit for over a 12-hour duration. The results are then recorded on each individual refrigerator and its packaging. There is also no guesswork in the manufacturing process. The EZ Freeze factory is the only manufacturer of large-capacity propane fridges to completely fabricate the cooling unit in-house, which is the heart of the machine. The raw materials are brought into the factory at the back door, and a new unit ships out through the front door. No subcontracting equals higher quality to you the customer!

You can also have the confidence that your made in the USA refrigerator will last you and your family for many years. Frequently Asked Questions

If you have questions for us, we have answers. To save you time, the team from Warehouse Appliance has provided answers to all our most commonly asked questions about propane refrigerators:

Q: Does a propane refrigerator need electricity?

Our propane refrigerators operate without electrical power. This is why they last so long. There are no computer boards, wires, or moving parts. 3-way propane fridges use electricity to heat the cooling unit instead of a flame. This is a very inefficient way to cool your refrigerator and will take an enormous amount of power from your solar system, if you have one. Unless you are in an RV or motorhome, a 3-way propane refrigerator is not a good investment.

Q: Can I lay my EZ Freeze refrigerator down for transportation?

Yes, but only on one side. It is important you lay it down on the correct side. To determine the side to lay it on, stand facing the front of the fridge. Reach out your left hand. This is the side to lay it on. Do not lay it on the other side, the front or the back. Once you arrive at your final destination, stand the fridge back up and let it sit for 1 hour before lighting it.

Q: Where do your propane refrigerators ship from? Can I pick it up at one of your locations?

Our propane refrigerators ship from 2 locations in the USA. We ship from Arizona and Indiana. And, yes, you can pick up your fridge at either location. If you would like to pick up your fridge, please contact us to place the order. We can also ship it to you directly in whatever state you live in, including Alaska and Hawaii!

Q: How long will a 20lb propane tank run a refrigerator?

Our smallest propane fridge will use, on average, 1.5 gallons of propane a week to keep your food cool. This translates to roughly 80 gallons of propane a year to run the fridge. So, by these estimates, a 20lb propane tank (4.6 gallons) will last about a month. And with recent propane prices averaging at $2.50 a gallon, estimating your overall fuel expense for the fridge will run approximately $200 annually.

Q: Are Propane Refrigerators Safe?

Yes, propane refrigerators are proven to be safe and are quite popular in the off-grid community. The flame is enclosed in a stainless steel burner box and is equipped with a thermocouple. The thermocouple will shut the propane off if the flame goes out or if you run out of propane. And always, as with any propane appliance, a carbon monoxide detector is recommended.

Q: Are propane refrigerators reliable?

Yes, our propane fridges are high-quality and very reliable. We have sold a variety of brands over the years. Our extensive experience in service and repair has given us the confidence to proclaim that the EZ Freeze brand to be the best in terms of quality, performance, craftsmanship, and overall long-term durability. Also, the units do not have any moving parts. This significantly increases their lifespan due to the absence of wear and tear. In addition, all our refrigerator parts and accessories are readily available, quality-control approved, and easy to install.

Q: What is your warranty for the propane refrigerators?

A: We offer an incredible 7-year warranty on our propane refrigerator cooling units. Our warranty covers all manufacturing defects. We also offer a free replacement cooling unit (shipping and labor are not included). Additionally, we offer free telephone service to anyone who buys our products. When calling, please have your sales invoice, model, and serial number with you.

Q: What type of home is good for propane refrigeration?

A: All off-grid homes are great for propane refrigeration, including places such as cabins or luxury homes in the woods. However, they can also be great for those living on the grid as well. Propane fridges do not require any batteries, sunshine, electric lines, or generators to run. Propane as a fuel is also safely and easily stored and is affordable.

Q: I am off-grid and very remote. Do you think your propane refrigerators will work for me?

A: Absolutely! Our propane refrigerators are a proven and cost-effective method to refrigerate food and other goods in remote areas. Propane itself is also easily transported, abundant, and eco-friendly too.

Q: I have a tiny home, and I need efficient cold food storage that doesn’t take up much floor space or counter space – what options do you have?

A: Our smallest propane fridge is an eleven cubic foot one that is perfect for those who are living in small spaces.

Q: Where are your refrigerators manufactured?

A: We are proud to say that all of our propane refrigerators are manufactured right here in the United States of America. Because of this, when you purchase propane fridges from us, you are helping to support an American business and American workers.

Q: How difficult is a propane refrigerator to set up?

A: It may be intimidating to set up a propane fridge if you have never done it before. We recommend you get a trained professional to do it for you to make sure it is done safely and properly. You will also receive a free Service and Maintenance DVD with your purchase from Warehouse Appliance. This covers everything you need to know about setting up and maintaining your EZ Freeze propane fridge.

Q: Is it easy to clean a propane fridge?

A: All propane refrigerators will require cleaning to maintain and prolong the life of the unit. This is why we send out a free Service and Maintenance DVD with every propane fridge we sell. All aspects of cleaning and maintaining are covered on this DVD. Cleaning needs to be done periodically by the burner area where the flame is located. It is necessary to make sure the flame is getting enough heat to cool your fridge.

Q: My freezer is freezing but my fridge compartment is too warm. What should I do?

A: Most of the time, if you notice your freezer is still freezing food, but your fridge seems too warm, you have a dirty flame. This means it is time to clean the burner area, orifice, and flue. When dirt, debris, and bugs get into the burner area over time, they burn up and create carbon buildup in the burner area, orifice, and flue. This restricts the amount of heat the flame produces. Once these areas are clean again, your flame will be blue again, and your fridge should return to normal temperatures. If you have any questions on how to do this, consult your Service and Maintenance DVD, owner’s manual, or contact us.

Q: What is the best number to call for questions I have or help I need?

A: You can reach out to us at Warehouse Appliance at 928-636-1955 for answers to questions and help. Once you buy from us, we give you free telephone support on the product you have purchased.

Q: How is a propane fridge better than a solar-powered fridge?

A: Solar refrigerators function best when the weather is sunny all throughout the year, which simply is not the case in most locations. Furthermore, if your home is not already equipped with solar panels and batteries, the upfront costs to install those can be quite steep. Also, propane fridges and freezers tend to be more durable than solar fridges and last longer.

Q: Is it difficult to get service on the propane refrigerators?

A: Because many of our customers tend to be located “off the beaten path” or in remote areas, we do our best to accommodate everyone. When it comes to the propane fridge you buy from us, we give you free telephone service for the life of the unit. Our refrigerators are designed to be easy to repair, but for added peace of mind, we try working with your local service repairman to solve any issues you may have that require hands-on repair.
